Symposium D

Optically Resonant Nanostructures

The symposium will cover major topics of resonant nanophotonics including resonant effects in both metallic and high-index dielectric nanostructures and their applications. Similar to the previous years, one of the goals of the symposium will be to get together experts from both plasmonic and resonant dielectric communities to have a fruitful discussion on relative merits of both approaches for future applications.

The Symposium will cover the following topics:

  • Dielectric and plasmonic nanoantennas: scattering directivity, near-field and fluorescence enhancement, strong coupling effects;
  • Dielectric and plasmonic metasurfaces and their applications, including flat optics;
  • Active semiconductor and plasmonic nanodevices and nanolasers;
  • Dynamically tunable nanoantennas and metasurfaces;
  • Nanoantenna and metasurface devices;
  • Nonlinearities in resonant nanostructures;
  • Optical forces with resonant nanostructures;
  • New physical phenomena related to resonances in dielectric and plasmonic nanostructures, including topological and quantum phenomena.
